HEALTH AND NUTRITION

In collaboration with other projects, donors, national and international NGOs, Al-Thuraya conducts studies, training, and capacity building to:

  • Reducing the risk of high rates of child mortality and malnutrition;
  • Preventing further deterioration of nutritional status among Children under 2 years of age (CU2) and pregnant and lactating women (PLW).
  • Raising awareness on nutrition and food security through public education by:
    • Using available items.
    • Considering family economical situation.
    • Giving priority to vulnerable groups.
  • Food safety issues:
    • Personal hygiene and keeping surfaces and cooking area clean.
    • Separating raw and cooked foods.
    • Cooking thoroughly.
    • Keeping food at safe temperatures.
    • Using safe water and raw materials.
